Popis: Simulation of the gynecologic cancer patient is a critical step in order to generate a high-quality radiation plan. Consideration must be given to not only the target area and nearby organs at risk but also the characteristics of the patient and the anticipated treatment machine’s capabilities and limitations. The degree of immobilization, reproducibility of setup, the ability to track organ motion, onboard imaging capabilities, patient body habitus, and overall patient health must all be considered. Below, we discuss these aspects of planning and review several techniques and devices that can be used for challenging clinical scenarios.
