Popis:	A green and practical method for the synthesis of thymine was established by using methyl acrylate under hydroformylation conditions to give the important intermediate methyl α-formylpropionate. The incorporation of this protocol into the synthesis of thymine resulted in substantial reductions in waste emissions and production costs. .
