Aim: The purpose of the paper is to investigate autofluorescence characteristics of tissues (mainly the adipose tissue) and organs in various places of the exercising rats. Methods: The laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) technique is used to research into autofluorescence characteristics of tissues and organs of various places of the exercising rats after one medium-intensity treadmill exercise up to exhaustion. Peculiar fluorescence peaks were found corresponding to the exercise in the three-dimensional fluorescence spectra in the fat tissue in the mesenterium place. The fluorescent substance corresponding to the fluorescence peaks was determined to be nicotine-amide adenine dinucleotide reduced(NADH). The correlation of the exercising state to the peak intensity was researched. Results: Specific exercise-related fluorescence peaks were discovered in the three-dimensional fluorescence spectra of the adipose tissue and the fluorescent substance corresponding to the fluorescence peaks was determined to be nicotine-amide adenine dinucleotide reduced(NADH). The research indicates that the energy metabolism of the adipose tissue of the rats is stronger than the sucutaneous adipose tissue and the adipose tissue in the caup. It is also stronger than that of the fore leg muscle, soleus muscle and other organs. The research shows that the autofluorescence characteristic is one of the effective indexes to judge the metabolizing degree of the organ tissue. |
