Popis: The cytoskeleton is involved in many diverse processes, from cell structure to signal transduction and transport. In recent years, the study of plant virus movement has suggested a role for the plant cytoskeleton in virus transport. Much of this research focuses on the association of the tobacco mosaic virus movement protein with plant cytoskeletal elements. Future studies will determine the role of this association in intracellular and intercellular or plasmodesmal transport of plant viruses. Furthermore, as viruses tend to exploit host cellular processes, interactions between viral components and the cytoskeleton may play vital roles during all stages of virus infection in plant cells.
