The anatomy of the groin is probably the most used, most studied and most confusing region of the body. It is here that general surgeons, from tiros to the most experienced, spend much of their time repairing inguinal hernias. Surgeons frequently use eponyms to describe inguinal anatomy and surgery. In this contribution, the commonly used groin eponyms are enumerated and brief descriptions are given of the anatomists and surgeons whose names are thus enshrined. The reader can decide who deserve their eponymous fame and who do not! |
