Popis: | For a range of low densities (n=1018 m−3...1021 m−3) and at T=104 K, the ionic plasma broadening of the first three hydrogen Lyman lins is investigated, using the collision time simulation technique. For Lα, the impact approximation is found to be good for densities up to n≊1020 m−3. For Lβ and Lγ, deviations from the simulation results are more pronounced, and the scalar theory which avoids the assumptiom of complete collisions, gives better agreement than impact theory. |
