The CO substitution reaction of Re 2 (CO) 10 with Ph 2 PCH 2 CH 2 PPh 2 in the presence of (C 2 H 5 ) 3 NO as an oxygen atom transfer reagent affords a novel substituted metal carbonyl complex of formula Re 2 Cl 2 (CO) 6 (Ph 2 PCH 2 CH 2 PPh 2 ), in which the chlorine is presumably extracted from the solvent CHCl 3 . An X-ray crystallographic analysis of the new complex has provided evidence for two chlorine and one diphosphine ligands bridging two rhenium atoms, Re(1) and Re(2), coordinated to three terminal COs, respectively. |
