Popis: | Summary The partial specific volume ( ¯v 2 ) of a human (IgM) immunomacroglobulin type lambda has been measured by sedimentation equilibrium using the density perturbation method. With H 2 O and H 2 18 O as solvents, ¯v 2 was found to be 0.724 cm 3 /g. A value of 1 035 000 daltons was found for the molecular weight. The usual method of sedimentation-diffusion equilibrium has been applied to the study of this IgM in aqueous 5 M guanidine HCl. There is a weak preferential interaction for the guanidine, the apparent partial specific volume Φ' being 0.718 cm 3 /g. |
