Popis: | 1. Titanium diselenide can be prepared by reacting selenium vapor with metallic titanium powder in an inert gas (helium, argon) stream at temperatures of 900–1200°C. 2. The reaction of hydrogen selenide with titanium yields stable titanium hydrides, and it is therefore impossible to produce the diselenide by this method. The Me-H bond is stronger than the Me-Se bond, as a result of which heating at 1300–1350°C completely fails to decompose the hydrides. |
