Popis:	Seven new metal chloride adducts with methyl cyanide, viz. MgCl2(CH3CN)2, NiCl2(CH3CN), CdCl2(CH3CN), GaCl3(CH3CN)2, InCl3(CH3CN)2, TlCl3(CH3CN)2 and SnCl4(CH3CN)3, are described. Methyl cyanide coordinated via the nitrogen in these compounds was demonstrated with the aid of infrared spectra. Further characterization and identification of the adducts was obtained from X-ray powder diagrams, ligand-field spectra, Raman spectra, far-infrared spectra and conductivity data.
