Popis:	Cardiac-muscle (CM) vs cardiac non-muscle (NM) cells (fibroblasts) have been shown to preferentially accumulate positively-charged anthracyclines (AT) (1), xanthene dyes (2), and other organic cations (3). It was not clear however, how the chemical charge and lipophilicity of AT affected uptake and intracellular localization in these cells which have been further characterized as being pgp multi-drug resistant negative (MDR -) for cardiac-muscle cells and MDR+for cardiac fibroblast.
