Popis: The Mata Viva Reserve presents an area of about 5.5 hectares, which belongs to the Universidade Federal do Parana (25o 26’ S and 49o 14’ W). Its vegetation is mainly represented by disturbed forest, representing a remnant of the Araucaria forest inside the city of Curitiba. In this paper we present a general floristic survey and a structural analysis of the arboreal vegetation, providing information for management plans and further studies on the biological diversity of this area. One hundred and seventy four species of seed plants were found, being Asteraceae, Solanaceae, Myrtaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Leguminosae the richest families. For the structural analysis, 656 trees (60 spp.) were sampled, and the species with the highest Importance Values were Schinus terebinthifolius, Lithraea brasiliensis, Allophylus edulis, Casearia sylvestris and Symplocos uniflora. The vegetation of the Mata Viva Reserve presents a high plant diversity and a considerable wealth of specimens in a relatively small area. It is important to notice that exotic species represents about 25% of the individuals in the reserve, with a high influence on the native vegetation
