Popis: | Modern concepts of programmed cell death, particularly the apoptosis in animals and plants are analyzed in this paper. A comparative characteristic of apoptosis in animal and plant cells taking into consideration the physiologic features of cells is presented. Necrosis as a form of pathological and not genetically programmed cell death is characterized. The significance (necessity) of apoptosis during the formation of a plant’s hypersensitive response and the role of programmed cell death under conditions of joint interrelations in the “pathogen-host” system are discussed. |
