Popis: This study is aimed at analysing the environmental impacts of environment-friendly clean briquette, being a new kind of briquette product, and compared with lignite by life-cycle assessment. The results based on inventory analysis and the assessment of environmental effects are obtained as follows: The environment load index for environment-friendly clean briquette is 0·29, and for lignite coal is 0·50. It is obvious that the environmental effects of environment-friendly clean briquette are far lower than that of lignite coal. Among the environmental effects, global warming is the most serious type for environment-friendly clean briquette, and CO2 is the most contributory. The emissions of environment concentrates are mainly on the stage of combustion in the whole life cycle for environment-friendly clean briquette, so the important way to improve environment-friendly clean briquette is to reduce the emissions to environment from the stage of combustion.
