Effects of misfit strain and reverse loading on the flow strength of particulate-reinforced A1 matrix composites

Popis: Experimental studies conducted on particulate-reinforced A1 alloys are used to critically assess flow models. For this purpose, the influence of thermal expansion misfit and of reverse loading provide a particularly critical assessment. Comparison with models indicates that continuum cell calculations provide good predictions of trends, subject to an in situ matrix strength that may differ from that for the unreinforced alloy.
