Popis: The miniloop culture vessel provides a simple means of obtaining high oxygen transfer rates in a small scale (10 cm3) reactor. The reactor contains no moving parts. The volumetric oxygen transfer rate (measured by Cu2+ catalysed sulphite oxidation) exceeded 400 h−1. The high surface: volume ratio (12 cm−1) permitted photosynthetic algal cultures with biomass densities over 35 g dm−3 in chemostat steady-states.
