Popis: | A thermal scanning method is performed for the detection of phases appearing in the Co–W–Cl system. This new procedure is based on the detection of thermal effects corresponding to the successive reduction stages when a reactive metal halide (WCl6) is heated with a metal (Co) powder under a constant heating rate (2 °C/min). The conditions adapted there from are used for the synthesis of individual compounds. No less than five phases were identified by X-ray powder diffraction as W(Cox)Cl6, CoW2Cl10, “Co2W2Cl10”, (Co,W)Cl2, and CoW6Cl14. |
