Effect of coherence of rotational motions on nuclear magnetic relaxation

Popis: The nuclear magnetic relaxation due to reorientational motions of molecules with two antiparallel equilibrium positions is reconsidered. The associated correlation function is generalized in order to make it independent from the initial state of the system. A simple expression, which differs from the B.P.P. one in a factor due to the presence of a certain amount of coherence in the motion, is found for (T1)intra in the case of narrowing motion. The conditions under which an effect of coherence can influence the value of (T1)intraare discussed.
