Shell has its own tools and methods for velocity model building. Since a long time already, travel-time inversion (TTI) is the tool of choice, but the methods used within TTI become gradually more sophisticated, hence their range of application is increased. Iterative velocity model updating from residual move-out (the PSDM cycle) dominates the scene. |
