The paper proposes a new method for enhancing gain and reducing radar cross section (RCS) a circularly polarized (CP) antenna for applications around 30 GHz, simultaneously. The proposed approach is based on the combination of the FabryPerot cavity (FPC) and polarization conversion surface (PCS) all on a surface. In order to suppress RCS, a reflection phase difference of 180° ±37° between adjacent PCSs is created. The proposed CP antenna with FPC has an impedance bandwidth (23%) ranged from 27 GHz to 34 GHz, peak gain 13.5 dB at 29 GHz with a 7.5 dB gain enhancement. Meanwhile, the proposed structure reduces monostatic RCS bandwidth by more than 35%. |
