CISTERCIAN SEALS FROM THE ABBEY IN ŁEKNO -WĄGROWIEC (PART IV) The article is the next, fourth, part of the study of the Cistercian seal from the Cistercian Abbey in Łekno-Wągrowiec in Greater Poland. The text revisits the issue of the early modern seals of the convent in Wągrowiec, analyzed by Paweł Stróżyk. A comparison was made of the patterns of seals used in the monastery from the 16th century onwards. An analysis was made of the differences that existed between them as well as the impact of these discoveries on the dating of the seals. It is worth noting that the article was inspired by the discovery in 2021 of the 18th-century stamp of the seal of the convent in Wągrowiec, reported by the State Archives in Poznań, which keeps it in its collection. |
