Popis:	In this study, bamboo strips were disintegrated into thin fiber bundles using a combination of chemical and mechanical method. Alkali solution for chemical treatment and disintegration of bamboo strips by compression in flat press for mechanical method were used. Bamboo fiber bundles so obtained were used to make composite using phenol formaldehyde resin. It was found that the mechanical properties of composite have improved.
