The primary focus of this review has been to cover literature published on π-carbon complexes, mainly from 1994 up to 2004. The discussion has been limited to characterized molecular entities of the following types of complexes: (i) mono-, bi-, and polymetallic η2-alkene and related (allene, cumulene, ketene, etc.) complexes, as well as η2-arene and η2-fullerene complexes; (ii) mono- and polymetallic alkyne compounds, including η2-alkynyl-bridged complexes (M–C CR); (iii) allyl and related η3-hydrocarbyl (butadienyl, cyclopentadienyl, propargyl, trimethylenemethane, etc.) species; and (iv) complexes with η4-(cyclobutadiene and 1,3-diene), η5-(cyclo- and heterocyclopentadienyl) and η6-(arene) ligands. |
