Aspects of the elastic deformation of the lattice of the crystallites in oriented polymers

Popis:	Wide angle X-ray diffraction has been used to measure change in the parameters of the lattice of the crystallites on tensile loading of a number of oriented polymers. With total longitudinal stretching of the lattices diffrent cases of change in the transverse dimensions of the cells (compression and stretching) have been established. The anomalous transverse stretching of the PE lattice is linked with the growth of distortions on loading.
