During copolymerization of p-diethynylbenzene with phenylacetylene using an (iso-C4H9)3AlTiCl4 catalytic system, soluble products of copolymerization contain polyene fragments, as well as polyphenylene independent of the-initial molar ratio of monomers. An increase in the molar proportion of p-diethynylbenzene in the copolymer increases the concentration of polyene chain segments and ternary bonds. The deterioration of thermal oxidizing stability and the improvement of thermal stability in vacuum are due to structural changes during heat treatment. |
