Popis: The Kwalkwalawa electrification project supplies power to a village of 60 households. The power generated is 7.21 kWp at an average solar radiation intensity of 5 kWh/m2/day and ambient temperature of 35°C. The output of each sub-array was conveyed via separate cable to the control room which has two sections, one for the power conditioning devices while the other contains the battery bank. The electrical power was conveyed to the village by an overhead line covering a total distance of 1000 metres. Each house was equipped with a 2 amps miniature circuit breaker to avoid overloading of the system.
