Popis: Our previous experiments in the series in 2021 found that simple explanations of the mechanism and side effect of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines were able to reduce vaccine hesitancy of people of all political ideology and increase willingness to get vaccinated. A year later, the effects of the original doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines had faded for many people and booster shots were made available across the US. In this current experiment, we again explore the use of explanations to reduce hesitancy in 1) taking boosters after already fully vaccinated and 2) taking the initial doses of the vaccine in the age where boosters are needed to maintain the immunity. Hence the experiment was split into two studies with each version recruiting from a different pool of participants. This document addresses the vaccine study. Previous research suggests that people overweight the risk of vaccine and underweight the risk of COVID-19. We addressed this issue in our explanations.
