This chapter is dedicated to the target field of adaptronics “Active Vibration Control”. Following on from the previous chapter, simple analytical considerations on beam models provide the basis for modeling vibrations in continuous systems with applied functional elements. The considerations of plane plates extend this view, which is the basis of active noise control in Chap. 8. The methods of active vibration control described here are based on the concept of structure-borne sound interference explained below. Another section deals with methods of structural dynamic identification of activatable structures. In addition to the methods of generating structure-borne noise interference, this chapter explains adaptive vibration damping and vibration damping by electromechanical networks. Finally, an insight into current research topics for active vibration control is given. |
