Strain-induced linear dichroism in YBa2Cu3O7- deltafilms

Popis:	We have studied piezo-optical effects on YBa2Cu3O7- delta in transmission. Induced linear dichroism for strain oriented along the crystallographic axes of the twinned ab plane appeared below about 240 K increasing down to 120 K and staying approximately constant below. For strain oriented along the face diagonal of the ab plane, the effect is observed for all investigated temperatures and shows a roughly linear dependence slightly decreasing with temperature.
