Thin Film Optical Filters: Bandpass Characteristics of VIBGYOR Wavelengths

Popis: In this paper, thin-film optical filters are designed using preliminary equations and modelled in Thin-Film Toolbox of MATLAB software. A multi-layer bandpass filter is designed to understand the variation of characteristics (Central Wavelength and Bandwidth) of a thin-film optical filter. The simulations of the visible region (VIBGYOR) indicated that the bandwidth of the filter near the Ultra-Violet region is wider when compared to the near Infrared region. Highest transmission of 95% is observed for the violet region.
