Popis: | 1. Tests in an NAMI-1 unit under selected conditions provide a means for differentiating oils according to their tendencies toward low-temperature deposit formation. 2. Differentiation of the oils is carried out primarily on the basis of the amounts of deposits in the centrifuge rotor. 3. The amount of deposits in the centrifuge rotor decreases as the degree of additive burn-off increases or as the degree of additive decomposition decreases. 4. In the Group B and No. 2 experimental oils, additive decomposition takes place not only in the combustion chamber and ring zone, but also to a considerable extent in the crankcase zone. |
