Real client problems are rarely tidy. Real clients seek legal assistance when they face complex, three-dimensional challenges. This article suggests that professors in first-year lawyering courses can help students develop their problem solving skills by engaging them in collaborative case development. Using a simulation model, students work in teams to identify and fill case holes through fact development and legal research. This framework infuses the traditional hypothetical model with the dynamism of real life legal problem solving. |
