Popis: The sources of the rivers that form six of the main Brazilian hydrographic regions, Parnaiba, Parana, Paraguay, Araguaia-Tocantins, Sao Francisco and the Amazon are in the Cerrado Biome. Because of its hydric potential, the Cerrado Biome is called the Cradle of Waters.. Aiming to analyze the spatial and seasonal variation of pluvial precipitation in Mato Grosso do Sul , the temporal and spatial variability of rainfall was studied, and the results were analyzed using the Rainfall Anomaly Index (RAI). The interpolation method used was the Topo to Raster. The temporal mean precipitation for the 30 year period, needed for the RAI calculation, which is used to classify periods of years as dry or wet according to the local mean was calculated in the statistical treatment. The results presented are the spatial and temporal seasonal distribution of the rainfall. The RAI showed 3.61% of extremely dry months, 22.22% of very dry months, 30.56% of dry months, 1.94% of months without anomaly, 25.83% of rainy months, 10.56% of very rainy months, and 5.28% of extremely rainy months in the studied period
