In this work we examine via an analytical model both the antireflection coating and the back surface field ability in boosting the electrical and optical performances of tandem solar cells. The proposed design permits to assess the single layer antireflection coating material parameters effect in terms of type, thickness and optical constants (refractive index). By fine tuning the single layer antireflection coating parameters a light trapping mechanism is established which reduce effectively the reflectance by ensure sharp collision for the reflected light. Besides, the proposed model allows the solar cell electrical parameters optimization. The optimized structure not only illustrates an improvement in terms of photocurrent (30%), but it also gone beyond its impact on $V_{oc}(5{\%})$ . The proposed tandem solar cell reveals a 36% improvement in conversion efficiency over the conventional one. Consequently, the amended structure, by using both single layer antireflection coating parameters and back surface field layers, appears as an attractive method for boosting the tandem solar cell performances. |
