This comprehensive scoping review will describe and compare the options for prosthetic hand replacements available on the market that are distal to the wrist, both surgical and non-surgical. Given the diversity of available prosthetics, we aim to fill the knowledge gap on prosthetics by synthesizing the available options and characterizing them to provide rapid evidence-based literature for clinicians and users alike. We will also highlight emerging prosthetic innovations to highlight the future directions of upper limb treatment. By doing so, clinicians and consumers can make informed decisions about their prosthetic choice that is optimized to complete their activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). |
