The elctrochemical and photoelectrochemical characteristics of n-type sodium niobate

Popis: | The electrochemical and photoelectrochemical properties of polycrystalline n -type NaNbO 3 electrodes were examined in 1M NaOH and 1N H 2 SO 4 . The band gap of NaNbO 3 was determined as 3.44 eV from photocurrent spectroscopy studies. The flat band potentials of n -type NaNbO 3 were found to be more negative than the 2H + /H 2 redox potential in both 1M NaOH and 1N H 2 SO 4 . In addition, the photocurrents were steady with time in both electrolytes indicating that it should be possible to construct a stable photodriven n -NaNbO 3 /electrolyte/counter electrode photoelectrolysis cell. |
