Popis: The purpose of this article is to identify communication strategies for social networks in the federal public service, which put into practice the constitutional principles of advertising and efficiency aimed at the public interest. This is a case study of the Communication Policies of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC), a federal higher education public agency. The results demonstrate that the institution considers communication on social networks as an important part for institutional interaction with people of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), which is valued as an intention to publicize the institutional image in order to strengthen it and to plan actions based on themes observed in social network monitoring.
