Emergency airway management is a critical capability required across all settings, many specialties, and nearly all professions within modern healthcare systems. Both technical and non-technical skills are fundamental for effective management of airway emergencies. Simulation-based training for interdisciplinary teams allows skill acquisition, development of emergency airway management protocols, hospital, or institution-wide implementation of protocols, as well as emergency airway protocol reassessment. Many approaches exist to integrate simulation into emergency airway management systems to optimize emergency airway management in healthcare systems. |
