Popis: | It is shown that the internal strain present in resin insulation by virtue of its manufacture changes under the influence of vibrational electrostatic forces associated with normal operating fields. This is an important observation since the tree-like degradation is sensitive to this strain. It is demonstrated that the changes are a manifestation of creep in the material, the effects being reproducible by thermal means and by exposure to mechanical vibration in the absence of high voltage. |
