| Popis: | The annual EnviroInfo conferences held for almost 20 years now build a platform to disseminate methods and results in Environmental Informatics. This includes information processing in environmental protection and research as well as informatics applications in the field of environmentally sound technologies and related fields. The Technical Committee (TC), Informatics for Environmental Protection of the German Society for Informatics (GI) has organized these annual conferences in five European countries. The theme of the EnviroInfo 2005 conference, Networking Environmental Information , provided a new opportunity to review the mosaic of Environmental Informatics approaches. This article provides a survey of research results, information sources and newly developed applications in this field. |
