Governments across the world have employed--or are considering--a wide variety of policy responses in the hopes of mitigating the spread of COVID-19. These policy responses often involve making trade-offs—including restrictions on movement, school and business closures, and increased government spending, all aimed at reducing extended personal contact between individuals. Confronting these trade-offs can be extraordinarily difficult. The purpose of this project is to assess how both elected officials and the mass public evaluate these trade-offs. |
