Popis: Key to the Solenoptera of Cuba This key includes all species of Solenoptera known from Cuba. Male and female of every species are treated separately; the female of S. parandroides is not included because is unknown. 1 Lateral areas of pronotum and prosternum and proepisternum densely micropunctate, with a dull appearance...... 2 (male) 1 Pronotum, prosternum and proepisternum without the densely micropunctate areas, with a shiny appearance..... 4 (female) 2 Elytra smooth and shiny, with punctures very fine, scarce and evenly distributed and its apical edge denticulate; prosternal process with apex practically rounded, very slightly notched, almost unnoticeable.................. S. parandroides Lameere 2 Elytra densely punctate and its apical edge indistinctly crenulate; prosternal process with apex evidently notched......... 3 3 Prosternal process with apex weakly notched, practically sinuous. Ventral pubescence restricted to mesepisternum, posterior part of metepisternum and lateral part of ventrites.............................................. S. cubana (Zayas) 3 Prosternal process with apex strongly notched, forming two evident lobes. Ventral pubescence covering large areas in thorax and abdomen............................................................ S. zayasi Devesa, Fonseca & Barro 4 Pronotum with anterolateral spine short, blunt or obtuse and not pointing backwards. Prosternal process with apex weakly notched, practically sinuous.
