Popis: The Raman spectrum of gaseous trans -N 2 F 2 has been recorded and analysed. All three symmetric vibrations were obtained and assigned NF sym. stretch—1018 cm −1 ; NN stretch—1523 cm −1 and NNF sym. bond—603 cm −1 . The i.r. and Raman spectra prove the structure of trans -N 2 F 2 to be of point group C 2 h . The Raman data also make possible a fuller assignment of the i.r. combination lines.
