| Popis: | We show how to analytically determine the existence and stability properties of fixed points of piecewise-linear coupled map lattices, then use this technique to investigate the bifurcations undergone by systems of diffusively-coupled bistable maps. The behaviour of various piecewise-linear and smooth models is compared, and features peculiar to piecewise-linear models are highlighted. Some examples of counter-intuitive behaviour enforced by the bifurcation scenario are given. |
