In our work, the electrical characterization has been performed on the monocrystalline silicon solar cells produced on a large area (10 x 10 cm) wafers with the thoroughly designed structure and front grid in order to receive the optimal photovoltaic results under the increased light concentration. For the comparison, also similar standard solar cells were measured. Both, ac and dc measurements have been performed on prepared solar cells in order to investigate electrical parameters of solar cells with various front grid pattern. Dependencies have been measured in the dark at stabilized temperatures from the interval between room temperature and 80 °C. The ac measurements have been performed in the frequency range from 10 Hz to 1 MHz. The I-V data measured in the dark, diode model and standard mathematical formula of I-V curves have been appropriate to estimate important parameters of the solar cells and characterize their behaviour. The aim of our work has been to use standard crystalline silicon solar cells technology and inexpensive adjustment to modify them for concentrator applications.
