Popis: | SUMMARY A decentralized, flat-structured and sparsely staffed academic library is the working reality for many librarians. Burnout, confusion and frustration quickly become the modus operandi as these librarians struggle to find solutions for difficult questions. Julia Dickinson and Sarah George at Illinois Wesleyan University's Ames Library wrestled unsatisfactorily with questions surrounding e-journal management for several years. The formal group structures traditionally used to handle such issues did not seem to produce effective answers. The librarians took a creative approach to finding solutions to their problems through the formation of a working “hot group.” Others faced with similar circumstances might easily adapt this working model. |
