The Transition of Euphorbia acanthothamnos from the Winter to the Summer Form

Popis:	Summary During April and May a quick transition from the winter to the summer form was observed in Euphorbia acanthothamnos H eldr . & S art . ex B oiss . Winter leaves fall and late spring leaves appeared for a short period of time. Before leaf fall 60 % of the nitrogen content of leaves is exported to the rest of the plant and at the same period lignification and the formation of cork takes place. During this period flow of matter takes place from the plant to the new stems as can be demonstrated with debarking experiments.
