direct determination of fiber span lengths as functions of bit errors rate for several standard speeds of data transfer by experimental study of amplified spontaneous emission in the backward pumped Raman amplifier are introduced in our work. The linear nature of Raman gain effect on fiber link transparency is demonstrated and working conditions of net amplification of signal are discussed. The numerical results on fiber span lengths at data transfer speed from 2.5 Gb/s to 160 Gb/s supporting the bit errors rate from 10−9 to 10−12 are presented. |
