Popis: The continuous x-ray spectrum has been studied at voltages from 1.1 kv to 2 kv and at wave-lengths from 8A to 14A using a vacuum single crystal Geiger counter spectrometer. The measurements were corrected for window absorption and counter efficiency but were not corrected for absorption in the target or for the reflecting power of the crystal. The total intensity in the continuous spectrum, as measured and partially corrected, is found to be proportional to the atomic number of the target, a result similar to results obtained for shorter wave-lengths, but the total intensity is not proportional to the square of the voltage applied to the tube. The shapes of the curves approach the shape to be expected from a thin target.
