Popis: Better utilization of solar energy has gained the attention of the present world. It has number of applications in various fields like Automobiles, Electricity sectors, Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generation etc. The Simulation study of a Solar Synchronous Buck Converter has been done which can be used for domestic applications. Modules incorporated in this project are Solar Modules, Synchronous Buck Converter and a Lead Acid Battery. The diode which is present in conventional buck converter is replaced by a MOSFET in the Synchronous Converter and the switching losses of this converter is less compared to buck converter [1]. A Synchronous Converter is connected to solar modules with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in which Perturb & Observe algorithm is used. This combination charges the lead acid battery and it is used to power the loads (domestic appliances). The lead acid battery is connected as load to the synchronous buck converter and the amount of charge in the battery is maintained at 60% or above.
